Most US Covid Deaths Could Have Been Prevented

Matthew Brown, USA TODAY

Former White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said most coronavirus deaths in the United States were avoidable, during a CNN interview for a documentary scheduled to air Sunday.

In an excerpt from "Covid War: The Pandemic Doctors Speak Out," Birx said that while many deaths in the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic were likely inevitable, the lethality of later waves could have been greatly reduced if the U.S. had "mitigated earlier ... paused earlier and actually done" greater social distancing and shutdown measures.

"I look at it this way," Birx told CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta. "The first time, we have an excuse. There were about 100,000 deaths that came from that original surge. All of the rest of them, in my mind, could have been mitigated or decreased substantially."

In March 2020, Birx and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that nearly 240,000 would die from the coronavirus if precautions were not taken. To date, there are nearly 550,000 deaths from COVID-19 in the United States, according to the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Tracker.

In December, Birx said she would retire from her position as White House coronavirus coordinator amid the Biden administration's transition into government. The move was widely seen in response to her tarnished reputation among Democrats, who saw her as an enabler of the Trump administration's COVID-19 strategy.

"The malicious incompetence that resulted in hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths starts at the top, with the former President and his enablers," Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif., said in a tweet responding to Birx's recent comments. "And who was one of his enablers? Dr. Birx, who was afraid to challenge his unscientific rhetoric and wrongfully praised him."

Birx's comments are among a series of comments the former White House aide has made since leaving the Trump administration. Many public health officials in the federal government often clashed with former President Donald Trump over the administration's handling of the coronavirus pandemic and Trump's public comments contradicting scientific evidence.

"I can't tell you how many discussions we had on, how do we get the message out realizing what's happening at the most senior levels of the White House," Birx told ABC News earlier this month. The longtime physician added that Trump's comments directing people to inject disinfectant into themselves made her "extraordinarily uncomfortable."

In a January CBS News interview, Birx also said “there were people who definitely believed that [the coronavirus] was a hoax" in the White House and that Trump's public comments often directly contradicted guidelines she and other health officials would give governors and local leaders about the pandemic.

OpEd: The upside is, most deaths have been Trump supporters and will be Trump supporters for years to come. God in his insatiable and impulsive need to see people suffer and die he didn't stop to think that most of the death from COVID-19 would be Trump supporters. You fucked yourself this time God! HA!

God is a Baby Killer

Don't deny it. God is a baby killer. God kills babies in the womb and the Bible proves it. Who are you going to believe some greedy right wing preacher or God?

COVID-19 Was Caused By God

God loves it when we suffer because fools pray to God to get the suffering to stop. God's sadistic lust is getting a real boost from COVID-19.  Many of us are holed up while God's pecker sucking servants are out spreading the virus. The good part is, a lot of evil Trumpers are dying from COVID-19 but the bad part is a lot of us have been holed up since March 2020.

The red states are under reporting COVID-19 cases and deaths. Most of the COVID-19 deaths are Trumper and now with the super bowl parties and Spring break there will be another surge and God will be cumming is his pants.

In 6 or 8 months most humans in the US will have been vaccinated and many MAGAts will refuse the vaccine and about 2% of them will die. Since God is a Republican he's fucking himself by fucking his MAGAts. When you figure that people of voting age are the ones most likely to die from COVID-19 and Trumpers are fat and sickly. A 1% reduction in MAGAts means that the 74 million MAGAts who voted for Trump will soon be 73 million. While this won't flip every district to Democrat it will flip many of them blue in congressional races.

Only An Evil God Would Allow Suffering

A god could not have created a more vicious cycle if it tried: Tying the very existence of life with the necessary killing of other life is the work of an evil genius, not of an all-powerful and all-loving god.
-- Vexen Crabtree

The Dominance of Death in Nature

A god could not have created a more vicious cycle if it tried: Tying the very existence of life with the necessary killing of other life is the work of an evil genius, not of an all-powerful and all-loving god.
-- Vexen Crabtree
The main piece of evidence here is biological matter and the food chain. All life dies - all biological life decays, erodes, fades, becomes diseased and ill if it does not sustain itself. To sustain itself nearly all life, except the least living elements of life, kills and eats other life. If not this, then it consumes biological matter at the expense of other living beings; the fight for food is also a case of living beings being required to outdo each other merely to survive.

If life was created, and not simply the result of undirected unconscious evolution (as seems sensible), this is surely the worst possible way to have created life. It appears very much that life cannot survive without causing suffering for other life. A god could not have created a more vicious cycle if it tried: Tying the very existence of life with the necessary killing of other life is the work of an evil genius, not of an all-powerful and all-loving god, that could choose if it wanted to sustain all life immediately and forever with manna from heaven. But it seems such an all-powerful good god doesn't exist.
Satanism is about realityIn reality, all living beings die. There are no exceptions. Satanism, in embracing life and indulgence, is in effect striving against death. However, it is inevitable that death will eventually winSatan, representing reality and the Human condition, symbolizes the victory of death. This eternal truth is more meaningful and potent than deceitful symbols of life, of reincarnation and of other spiritual pipe dreams.
Sensible refrain:

Life exists as a precarious balance of self-replicating chemicals, and such a balancing game is always bound to be temporary, pending major technological discoveries or serious and continuous genetic engineering. That such extreme measures have to be taken to prolong life is evidence to the fact that life is incidental to the universe, a by-product that exists due purely due to statistical likelihood, and that life is temporary is because all the physical constructs of the universe are temporary. However, if a deity was believed in, it would be sensible to assume that it was evil and created life as such a disharmony in order to cause the suffering and pain of living beings.

1.3. Genetic Diseases and Unintelligent Design3

Christian doctrine holds that mankind suffers because of sin, which we choose as a result of free will. Without free will there would be no sin, and therefore no suffering. But it is obvious that a great number of the genetic diseases reviewed above on this page are inherited from the moment of conception, and therefore are nothing to do with choice or character. Not only that, but genetic diseases affect all species, although, as a result of mankind's increasing lifespan, many diseases have come to fore in humankind due to senescence. It is possible to construct evolutionary trees tracing the history of a faulty inherited gene through species by looking at which species emerged from what predecessors (phylostratigraphy), and through other genetic techniques. Many faulty genes that afflict mankind originated in previous species that existed before humankind emerged4, therefore, it is a logical impossibility that the existence of mutations and diseases are a result of human sin. In other words, the suffering that results from genetic diseases has affected all species throughout the history of life, and is part of the fundamental process of evolution. It has been noted that this is a hefty piece of evidence that if there is a god, it isn't the good-natured creator that traditional religions believe in. [...]
Genetic diseases afflict not only mankind, but also all other animal species, and all other forms of life down to the simplest bacteria and harmless single-cell lifeforms floating in the oceans. In all these species and in plants there are seemingly endless cases of genetic flaws and problems. Perhaps the best indicator of how badly life is 'designed' is the stark reality that 99% of all species have gone extinct. The food chain requires that nearly every living being survives by killing other creatures to eat for food, and species naturally expand to use up all local resources, limiting the success of other species. Everywhere in nature, predator-and-prey chains are central to life. This isn't a design for life, but a design of strife and violence. The genetic defects of nature, and the violence and strife of the natural world, indicate that life was not designed by a good-natured creator god but maybe by an evil one. My favourite phrase to describe all of this waste and bad design is one I picked up from Paul Kurtz in the Skeptical Inquirer:
The existence of vestigial organs in many species, including the human species, is hardly evidence for design; for they have no discernable function. And the extinction of millions of species on the planet is perhaps evidence for unintelligent design.

Godwhacker by Steely Dan

In the beginning We could hang with the dude
But it's been too much of nothing Of that stank attitude
Now they curse your name And there's a bounty on your face
It's your own fault daddy GodWhacker's on the case

We track your almighty ass Thru seven heaven-worlds
Me, Slinky Redfoot And our trusty angel-girls
And when the stars bleed out That be the fever of the chase
You better get gone poppie GodWhacker's on the case

Be very very quiet Clock everything you see
Little things might matter later At the start of the end of history

Climb up the glacier Across bridges of light
We sniff you, Big Tiger In the forest of the night '
Cause there's no escape From the Rajahs of Erase
You better run run run GodWhacker's on the case

Be very very quiet Clock everything you see
Little things might matter later At the start of the end of history
Yes we are the GodWhackers Who rip and chop and slice
For crimes beyond imagining It's time to pay the price

You better step back son Give the man some whackin' space
You know this might get messy GodWhacker's on the case

Brilliant song, one of my favorites. The meaning is surprisingly simple; for Steely Dan anyway. In Donald Fagen's book Eminent Hipsters (Well worth a read btw) he says: "One more word about my mother: She died horribly of Alzheimer's. One time, after not seeing her for a while, I visited her in a nursing home in Ohio. As I walked towards her, she stared at me with great interest and then said, "You know, I've always liked you very much." Not long after that, she was gone. How do you like that? A couple of days later, I started writing a lyric for this song "Godwhacker," which Walter and I completed and recorded for a Steely Dan CD."

It's about an elite squad of assassins whose sole assignment is to find a way into heaven and take out God. If the Deity actually existed, what sane person wouldn't consider this to be justifiable homicide?" -----------------------------

So yeah. The lyrics are kind of straight forward. However it does give a whole new philosophical dimension to the song. The concept of if a God did exist, he surely deserves punished for his blatant lack of care etc. Whether you agree with the concept or not, or if you just don't care, it still adds a very deep philosophical meaning to the song.

He Gives Us All His Love by Randy Newman

He gives us all his love
He gives us all his love
He's smiling down on us
From up above
And he's giving us all his love

See the source image
He knows how hard we're trying
He hears the babies crying
See the source image
He sees the old folks dying
And he gives us all his love
If you need someone to talk to
You can always talk to him
And if you need someone to lean on
You can lean on him
He give us all his love
He gives us all his love
He's smiling down on us
From up above
And he's giving us all his love
He's smiling down on us
From up above
He gives us all his love
